Spotlight: Moonlight's Project 36 amplifies the voice of the American people in any election: local, state, or nation-wide.
In the American ideal, power is not entitled to the strong, the rich, or the noble-born. In America, power is granted by ballot.
The success of such a system depends on harmony between the represented and the representative. Originally, such harmony was produced by literal dialogue. The first Senate race in Massachussetts drew 421 votes. Pennsylvania, 135 votes. New Hampshire, just 84. Yet with thousands to millions of voters in modern elections, such direct dialogue is rarely possible.
The closest thing to its replacement is polling, yet polls cover a small fraction of the issues, remain accurate for a short amount of time, and lack key data like issue importance.
Moonlight Metrics' Project 36 offers an alternative. Our goal: revive the dialogue.
"What would take us hundreds of polls and thousands of hours to do, Project 36 does in an instant."
Combining our proprietary algorithm with a statistical method called multilevel regression and poststratification, we can—in real time—accurately rank 3,000+ issues by their persuasiveness in any district of the US.
